Promoting and supporting compliance isn’t about policing people’s behavior, it’s about understanding which regulations, laws and policies apply to our activities and making sure we follow them. It’s about doing the “right thing” to advance the University of Michigan’s mission and maintain high standards.

Understanding Our Roles & Responsibilities

Compliance is the responsibility of every U-M employee. Each of us needs to make sure that our actions and U-M’s activities comply with the law, applicable regulatory requirements and university policy. Legal and compliance experts, managers and university leadership are here to help.
